With the dark, iron-rich clay body and its coating of white slip, the contrasting dark-and-light is a hallmark of buncheong wares. This tea cup by Yeon tae Park features a tall and narrow shape. The curving transition between the foot and the bowl of the cup is an example how Park adds elegant touches that, while true to tradition, give each of pieces a contemporary sensibility.

Made to be used for serving Gong-fu cha style of Chinese tea, this cup would also work well as a sake cup or a sipper to enjoy whiskey or other spirits.
