Throughout his long career, Wayne Ngan produced a seemingly unending variety of tea bowls. This example, in a soft dove grey glaze, features his classic shape. High waist, straight sides, and a bamboo-node carved foot, the form is elegant yet utilitarian - fulfilling each of the tea bowl’s functions without drawing attention to any one in particular.  Produced later in his career, and acquired directly from his studio, the serene glaze recalls the steel grey skies of Canada’s West Coast.
